FREER Music: Digital Distribution and Publishing Administration

Launched in 2025 as a wing of FREER Records, FREER Music offers digital distribution and publishing administration for prison-impacted musicians. Think CDBaby or Tunecore, but with a more human touch.

I. What we offer at FREER Music:

  1. Promotion on our Monthly Mailing List (1700+ subscribers).

  2. Promotion on our Instagram (4500+ followers, all real).

  3. Option to Collaborate with us on posts which we approve at our discretion.

  4. Your music as part of our unique catalog, which when appropriate is pitched for synchronization deals (film, tv, commercial, etc). These types of deals are very hard to land, but you will be part of a catalog that gets eyes on it.

  5. Playlist pitching for streaming platforms. (This is an action our parent company Audiosalad does and is out of our hands - it is extremely rare you will land on playlists.)

  6. Human customer service for troubleshooting, and advice within reason around release strategy.

  7. No upfront cost, unless you need services done like album artwork.

II. What we get from the deal:

  1. 20% of streaming royalties, 30% of synchronization royalties. You retain your masters.

  2. More content in our catalog and wider community reach.

III. Caveats:

  1. Because we are a small team, release schedules must be determined at our discretion.

  2. We require a lot of metadata so your catalog stands a chance at playlisting and synch licensing — so be prepared to enter a lot of information (see metadata sheet below).

  3. Being a FREER Music client is limited to digital distribution and publishing admin ONLY. We do not produce videos, book studio time, manage, or do any of the bespoke work for FM clients as we do for FREER Records clients.
